Plastic Aircraft Expansion Screw

Our factory produces plastic aircraft expansion screws, also known as gypsum board expansion tubes or aircraft expansion plugs. They are injection molded from PE or nylon and come with a self-tapping screw. They are specifically designed for use on soft walls such as gypsum boards, hollow boards, and thin wooden boards. When installing, first drill a small hole in the board, insert the expansion tube, and then tighten the screw with a screwdriver. After tightening, the "wings" on both sides of the expansion tube will spread out from the back, gripping the gypsum board, providing a stable hanging surface.

You can tell from its appearance - it has a cylindrical tube in the middle and two plastic wings on each side. When it's folded up and inserted into the hole of the plasterboard, when you tighten the screw, the screw pulls up, pushing the plastic in the middle to the sides. The two wings then open up, gripping the plasterboard from behind like airplane wings. With the screw head blocking the front and the wings gripping the back, the whole thing is fixed to the board.

Drill a hole in the gypsum board with a diameter equal to the outer diameter of the expansion tube. Insert the expansion tube into the hole and press it flat with your hand. At this point, the wings should be spread out on the back. When hanging something, the screw head will be exposed, and you can just hang it up.

The wings of the plane expand to grip the back of the card, and the plasterboard can also hang things: this is the biggest difference between it and ordinary expansion tubes. Ordinary expansion tubes cannot exert force on the plasterboard, but the expanded wings of the plane expand from the back, grip the plasterboard, with the front screw head blocking and the back wings pulling, so things won't fall off when hung.

The installation is simple and can be done by one person: drill a hole, insert it, and tighten the screws. There's no need to find a joist, make a large hole, or operate from the back of the wall. To hang a picture at home, just grab a screwdriver and install it yourself.
