Christmas Tree Gecko Expansion Screw

Our factory produces iron sawtooth geckos, also known as Christmas tree metal expansion tubes. Unlike plastic expansion tubes, these have a series of sawtooth rings around the body, resembling a Christmas tree, hence the name. They are specifically designed for use on soft walls such as lightweight bricks, hollow bricks, and aerated blocks - plastic expansion tubes cannot be tightened securely on these walls and become loose when pulled, whereas iron sawtooth geckos do not.

Product Description

Plastic expansion tubes rely on the plastic expanding when screws are tightened, thereby gripping the wall. They work well on solid brick and cement walls, but on soft walls such as lightweight brick, hollow brick, and aerated concrete blocks, the plastic's hardness is insufficient. When tightened, the plastic rotates with the screw, failing to expand, and the hanging item becomes loose at the slightest pull. The iron serrated gecko is made of metal, with a ring of serrations on the tube.

Made of carbon steel, it has sufficient strength. The surface is plated with blue-white zinc or color zinc, with a salt spray resistance of about 72 hours, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. When installing things on lightweight brick walls, moisture is inevitable, but the galvanized layer can withstand it. It is much more durable than untreated bare iron.

Product Feature

The sawtooth bites into the wall, and it's secure even on a soft wall: the sawtooth of the pipe starts to bite into the hole wall when it is knocked in, and it embeds deeper when tightened. Plastic expansion pipes cannot be tightened securely on lightweight bricks and tend to rotate, but iron sawtooth geckos won't. The heavier the hanging object, the tighter the sawtooth bites, and pulling it actually makes it tighter.

Metal tube body, no spinning or slipping: The tube body is made of carbon steel through stamping, with higher hardness than plastic. When tightening screws, the tube won't spin idly in the hole. When tightened to the end, it feels clear. Plastic expansion tubes often start spinning idly halfway on soft walls, and the screws are not tightened, leaving you unsure when hanging things.
