It's the recess at the head, not the cross-shaped one but the hexalobe one, which we call a Torx recess. Using a specialized hexalobe wrench, when inserted, all six sides make simultaneous contact and bear the force. The cross-shaped recess has only four contact points with a smaller contact area. The hexalobe wrench doesn't wobble when inserted, and when tightening with force, the torque is directed along the recess walls, unlike the cross-shaped recess which tends to push outward. This ensures no slippage when applying torque, and the recess remains square.

Machine threads require pre-tapped holes or nuts. Coarse thread standard, pitch follows national standards. Thread rolling machining, 6g accuracy, pass/fail gauges for sampling inspection. Smooth insertion without burrs or jamming.
