One end has an external thread and the other end has an internal thread. The external thread is screwed into the base, while the internal thread is used to connect the bolt. Same diameter threads can be extended for connection, while different diameters can convert one type of thread into another. Same diameter means that the specifications of the external and internal threads are the same, for example, M8 on the outside and M8 on the inside. This is mainly used to extend the threaded connection - the threaded hole on the base is too shallow, and the bolt cannot be screwed in for a few turns. When the same diameter internal and external thread nuts are screwed in, the internal thread extends forward for a section, and the bolt can be screwed deeper. Reducing refers to one specification on the outside and another specification on the inside, such as M10 on the outside and M6 on the inside. This type is used to convert threads - there are M10 holes on the base, but only M6 bolts on hand. By installing an M10 outer/M6 inner conversion nut, M6 bolts can be used.

Apply a little thread locking adhesive or tape to the external thread end, screw it into the threaded hole of the base, and tighten it to the bottom. Then screw the bolt to be connected into the threaded end. If it is a through-hole inner and outer nut, the bolt can be screwed through continuously; If it is a blind hole, the bolt will stop when tightened to a certain depth. After installation, the inner and outer nuts are equivalent to a part of the base, providing a new threaded interface.

Repair damaged thread: The original thread on the base has slipped, expand the hole and tap the larger thread by one level, install a reducing inner and outer nut, and turn the large hole back to its original specification. A workpiece does not need to be scrapped, saving hundreds or thousands of yuan.

Same diameter extended thread: The base thread hole is too shallow, and the bolt can only be held by two or three turns when screwed in, resulting in insufficient strength. Install a nut with inner and outer teeth of the same diameter, with the internal thread extending forward. The bolt can be tightened to a sufficient depth for a more secure connection.
