Product Description

This screw has two characteristics: one is the torx groove, and the other is the countersunk head. The torx groove refers to the six-petaled flower-shaped groove on the head, which is neither a Phillips nor an Allen head. When using a dedicated torx screwdriver to tighten, the screwdriver fits into all six sides and applies force simultaneously, unlike the Phillips groove which only applies force to four points. When applying torque, the screwdriver does not slip out, and the slot opening is not easily rounded. When using an electric screwdriver on the assembly line, the lifespan of the torx screwdriver is much longer than that of the Phillips, so workers do not have to change the screwdriver frequently.

A countersunk head is a 90-degree conical surface, resembling an upside-down funnel. Before installation, a counterbore should be drilled in the workpiece. After the screw is tightened, the head will sink completely below the surface of the workpiece, flush with it. It feels flat and does not scratch the hand. Installing such screws on the panel gives a clean appearance and does not protrude a head. For some equipment with tight internal space, there is also a cover plate on top, and the countersunk head will not hit the cover plate.

The Torx slot is not slippery: The Torx slot has six stress-bearing surfaces, and the screwdriver bit can insert and grip firmly. When applying torque, it won't pop out and distort the slot like a Phillips slot does. On the assembly line, electric screwdrivers are used, and one bit can last for a long time, so workers don't have to change it frequently. If the slot is twisted, the screw becomes useless, but this problem rarely occurs with Torx slots.

The panel feels flat when touched, and it will not scratch your hand or block the cover plate or film above. The head requires pre-drilling of a counterbore, and the conical surface should fit well with the counterbore, so that it does not wobble after tightening.
